Fishing Report from TPWD (Apr. 9)

GOOD. Water stained; 70 degrees; 0.14 feet below pool. Granbury water temperatures fell to the mid 60s with this last cold snap, but will likely rebound to near 70 degrees by the weekend. Spring fishing patterns are in place. Largemouth bass are close to their spawning grounds and are good on soft plastics and spinnerbaits. Crappie are also in the back of creeks and sloughs and are good on small white/,blue and black jigs or just use a small minnow. Striped bass are close to spawning and are good on large live shad near creek entrances from Decordova Subdivision to Water Edge. Blue catfish are good to 20 pounds plus catches near channel ledges on cut bait. The best catfish action is reported from near Rough Creek to Bentwater, look for schools of fish. Sand bass action is good to excellent on many areas of the lake. Best bait is a white and chartreuse slab bounced off the bottom near humps and ridges in 13-20 feet of water. Sand bass catches are good from Decordova, Indian Harbor, the Shores and Bentwater. Report by Michael Acosta, Unfair Advantage Charters.
