Fishing Report from TPWD (Apr. 16)

GOOD. Water stained; 70 degrees; 0.18 feet below pool. Lake Granbury is at full pool level. Water temperatures are in the upper 60s to low 70s. Sand bass action is excellent on chartreuse and white slabs fished in 13-18 feet of water on many areas of the lake. Striped bass are good on shallow feeding flats chasing baitfish from Blue Water Shores to Decordova subdivision. Striped bass to 10 pounds are possible on Umbrella rigs, topwater presentations and of course live shad. Black bass anglers are catching some good fish to 8 pounds on the lower ends and upstream above the 377 business bridge on lipless crankbaits and soft plastics. Many of the largemouth bass and crappie are in the back of the creeks spawning. Crappie are good on small minnows and small jigs fished under a cork. Blue catfish action continues to be good on cut shad fished near channel edges on the upper ends. Report by Michael Acosta, Unfair Advantage Charters.
