Lake Granbury

Fishing Report from TPWD (Feb. 5)

GOOD. Water stained; 53 degrees; 0.07 feet below pool. Lake Granbury is at full pool and the water temperature is in the 50s and rising quickly with the warm weather. The white bass spawning run is ongoing and many are catching these fish on the upper ends on spinners, rattletraps and small jigs. Some of the sand bass are still staged in the deeper water on the main lake. Striped bass to 13 pounds are being caught near Striper Alley and on the upper ends near Stockton Bend using swim and jerk bait on heavy jigs. Largemouth bass continue to be good in numbers on soft plastics especially on those warmer days. Main lake points and the river above Granbury are boasting on the largemouth bass catches. Big blue and yellow catfish are good to 30lbs on cut shad on the upper ends close to Hunter Park. Crappie are fair to good on small jigs on deeper timber and bridge piling. Lots of crappie are being caught in the river near Tin Top as well. Report by Michael Acosta, Unfair Advantage Charters.
