Fishing Report from TPWD (Oct. 23)

GOOD. Water stained; 80 degrees; 1.34 feet below pool. Granbury water temperatures have been hovering around the mid 70s, but will continue to cool with passing cold fronts. The lake has turned over, but will continue to turn as the surface cools. White bass are good to excellent on many areas of the lake on slabs and spinnerbaits. Lots of schooling small sand bass with some big ones mixed in. Striped bass are slow to fair to 10 pounds on live bait and trolled jigs from Blue Water Shores to Indian Harbor. Largemouth bass are good in numbers with some good fish to 7 pounds possible. Largemouth bass are good on crankbaits and soft plastics fished in the back of sloughs near docks and near main lake points. Crappie are excellent on small jigs and minnows fished on structure from Indian Harbor to Bentwater. Catfish are good on cut shad and prepared baits. Blue catfish are fair to good with an occasional fish over 30 pounds possible. Report by Michael Acosta, Unfair Advantage Charters.
